- Emissions Control - Control of pollutant emissions play a big role in how we manage our business. Being a business that depend in part on vehicles on the road all the time, we produce emissions that are difficult to avoid but that can be controlled. In Green Way Express we put efforts and money on using the technologies available today to have the least impact on the environment. One example is that we have started converting our gasoline vehicles to use Liquefied Propane Gas (LPG) which is a cleaner burning fuel. As we move forward and the company grows, our pipeline includes the use of hybrid (gasoline/electric) vehicles.
- Technology - Having implemented technology that helps facilitate the planning and preparation of routes, Green Way Express is able to achieve its business goals while minimizing the miles traveled and the fuel consumed. Through the use of GPS technology we establish patterns and look for areas of improvement in order to minimize our emissions.
- Community - Since we cannot be 100% pollution free, we integrate programs in our business agenda that can somehow help neutralize our impact. We participate in events that will improve our environment and our community. Things like collecting garbage from El Yunque Rainforest once a year are among the things we do to help our community and our planet. See pictures of El Yunque Rainforest - Clean Up Day here...
- Education - As a means to also neutralize our impact, Green Way Express is committed to not only educate its staff members but also clients, competition and industry. We train our drivers on best practices to maximize mileage. This includes driving with the windows up, making sure the tires have the correct tire pressure, the vehicle maintenance is up-to-date, etc. At every presentation we do, we include the environmental topic. At every consultation we provide, we look for ways to improve not only the business but how to green it. The better educated, the better we behave in favor of our planet.
